About CHARGED
OUR MISSION: to provide the world with better entertainment
We see a need in the world for more of the fun stuff to be wholesome and for more of the wholesome stuff to be fun. We want to be part of filling that need. To us, "wholesome" means good for the whole person, including mind, body, relationships, soul, emotions, and all the rest. (To be honest, though, we haven't figured out a good way for comics to be good for your body, no matter how low-calorie our ink is.) We are also not (yet?) a for-profit label, so most of the content created here is done as passion projects in spare time.
OUR PASSION: to have fun and to give fun
We love to entertain. If you walk out of the room saying that you had a truly good time and that you feel ready to face life for the next minute or the next month, we're happy. Of course, we can't give that to you if we don't keep ourselves filled, so our own growth as people is a priority as well.
What we believe:
We at CHARGED Comics are Christians who want to honor God with the media we create. Our products are intended to, at a minimum, entertain audiences in a beneficial way. This means excluding things that risk corroding character, and it means including things that encourage the audience to live courageously, selflessly, and valuing the eternal over the temporary. We also intend to offer products that accurately present a Christian life and worldview in a variety of (sometimes fictional) settings.
Who we are:
A large number of people have contributed ideas and input to CHARGED. While we can't list every single one of them, we've put here some bios/creative credit for some important people in the CHARGED ideas realm.
Alex Janzen
Alex curates this website, writes some comics, makes some videos, and generally expands on others' ideas. He was one of the four people that first came up with SN and his alter identity is the character "Hydron." Pretty much everything in the CHARGED universe has received some input from him. Alex recently graduated from Tabor College and is currently pursuing a Masters degree. He lives in California with his pet rock.
Ben Reimer
Ben came up with the first ideas for SRBM, LOLS, Montana Smith, Star Travel, and ICHTY, and was one of the four people that first came up with SN, serving as the alter identity for "Pyros." He wrote the first complete Montana Smith adventure and has been a major collaborator in the development of the SN galaxy.
Anthony Fortner is a frequent creative and scientific consultant. He was one of the original developers of Glub-glubs and serves as the basis for the SN character "A-TWON."
Simon Janzen is a frequent creative consultant, was one of the original developers of SN, and serves as the alter identity of the SN character "The Lithionator."
Jon Reimer was one of the original developers of SN and serves as the alter identity for "Electroid."
Jacob Rose serves as a creative consultant and is the original creator of Glub-glubs. He also is the basis for the SN character "Telekineticlops."
