The SuperNaturals
An organization of superheroes fighting for all that is good in the galaxy, with allies and enemies in the seen and unseen realms.
About SN
SuperNaturals (SN) is a team of superheroes with dealings throughout the galaxy. Originally, there were only four members, collectively known as the Quaternion, who take a very Christian stand as to what is meant by "supernatural." As their friends acquired superpowers, they expanded their league into the modern SN, which has thousands of members from diverse cultures, worldviews, and home planets, and has developed significant technological assets and galactic alliances. Their number one antagonist is Quantis, the dimension-warping villainous leader of the galaxy's largest robotic army.
Enter: Hydron
This video is a high school project introducing Hydron, one of the key SN characters.
Characters
Hydron
The oldest of the Quaternion, Hydron can control, create, and turn into any form of water. This means he can shoot water from his hands, turn into solid ice, and manipulate water from a distance. It's impossible for him to drown. Hydron enjoys hand-to-hand combat, although the command chair on a massive star cruiser has the dramatic feel that suits his fancy nicely. His favorite fighting moves include making swords out of ice and wielding them like a ninja, blasting opponents with bursts of water machine-gun style, and creating giant mech armors out of ice. Hydron relies on Telekineticlops for gadgets and non-superpower abilities, his favorite of which is MetaTrident. He also likes to listen to EDM in battle, and in his free time loves reading about ancient civilizations.
Pyros
The dramatic lead and explosion specialist of the Quaternion, Pyros can manipulate fire, lava, heat, and other related things. He draws energy from massive heat sources in the area, e.g. the sun or a planet core. He can shoot fire, make big cracks in the earth and call fire and lava out of them, encase himself in obsidian, and superheat an area. Subsequently, he can also drain an area of its heat, then release it in a violent explosion. He has a certain skill with robotics, and was on the team of SN associates that developed interstellar space travel. Pyros is good friend with Jake Argo, general of the Galactic Armada special forces, who managed to fund Pyros' first warship. Pyros likes to listen to classic rock while blowing 'bots out of the sky in his custom Mark II Byssian ARC Fighter.
Lithionator
Hydron's brother and the Quaternion's heavy hitter, The Lithionator can turn into, create, and manipulate rocks, dirt, sand, gravel, minerals, or whatever happens to constitute the ground around him. He prefers to work either on the front lines in the Galactic Armada as a soldier, or on a duo mission with another Quaternion member. Favorite moves are: turning his hand into a giant boulder and smashing a bunch of bad guys, wearing an exosuit-like armor of obsidian or diamond, opening up the ground underneath an advancing regiment of enemy soldiers, and shooting diamonds like bullets. He can also create sand-warriors and rock-monsters that can hide in their terrain completely unnoticed, and then spring up and attack. He plays trumpet and dabbles in stand-up bass, and specializes in funk and bluegrass.
Electroid
The power source of the Quaternion's stealth missions and Pyros' brother, Electroid specializes in electricity and magnetism. He enjoys sending a massive thunderstorm into the middle of the fray and directing lightning at all the enemies. He also can magnetize opponents towards himself, then shut them down with a thunder-induced sonic boom. One of his favorite moves is redirecting computer information: he can actually put himself inside of cyberspace and mess with the enemy motherboard, which is devastating seeing as the SN frequently clashes with Quantis' robot army. In a pinch, he can actually rearrange electrons in certain things, changing their chemical behavior into that of an entirely different substance. In his spare time he likes finding mashups of classic songs.
Quantis
Quantis is the first and primary antagonist of the SN, with the ability to create black holes, white holes, and wormholes. This allows him to suck anything around him (and not necessarily everything around him) into a black hole, shoot matter and energy (e.g., gamma radiation, lasers, bullets, and toasters) from white holes, and travel between points in space (though not time) through wormholes. His robotic army is made by factories run by more robots of his on industrial planets. He also owns the largest known warship in the galaxy and likes to see how close to major planets he can hide it. In his mind, the biggest problem with the galaxy is its inefficiency, and is willing to be seen as a villain in order to secure a more prosperous, stable, and predictable future. He despises the stereotype of villains who love classical music, and considers himself well-cultured with his appreciation for both Bach and Bon Jovi.
Telekineticlops
Telekeneticlops has the ability to move stuff with his mind. He got his telekinetic ability while he was experimenting on his brain for a science project (he got an A+). Telekeneticlops prefers fighting alongside Hydron, and likes to get around using teleporters. His favorite enemies to fight are especially dumb bad guys, such as Quantis' robots. He likes to do science experiments on other people, a tendency that has given rise to many superheroes and supervillains. He is the primary gadget designer for the SN as well. He also discovered Doodle-dood World and the Glub-glubs, and his favorite substances are Aerogel and Unobtanium.
A-TWON
The Acute Technology-Wired Organic Nervous was created in cooperation with the SN and the Glub-glub government. They took a human's brain and incorporated it into a massive supercomputer underneath an island on Doodle-dood World. The human's brain cavity was then filled with a special transceiver which allows him to live, sense, and act like a normal human, but in actuality his brain is incredibly powerful. A-TWON, which is also the nickname of the subject human, is now in charge of the Robo-Nerd Assignment, a secret project whose details are not allowed to be disclosed. Suffice it to say that A-TWON has some robots under his control. A-TWON has also become a chief intelligence gatherer in the galaxy, and is unofficially allied with the SN, because he was friends with Telekineticlops and Hydron before SN got started.
The Galactic Armada
The galaxy's peacekeeping military with soldiers of a vast variety of species, the Galactic Armada is not officially allied with the SN. Their Elite Forces, though, led by Jake Argo, are on friendly terms with a number of SN members and will often provide reinforcements for SN endeavors when necessary.
Jake Argo
Jake is the general of the special forces division of the Galactic Armada. Even before the formation of SN, he was known by Hydron to be an expert military strategist and tactician; his heavily effective tactics have earned him the nickname "the Bludgeonator." He is now good friends with Pyros, having met after the SN was formed and often hooks Pyros up with the latest spaceships. He usually funds the building of most the capital ships, attack cruisers, and the rare warship for the SN.
Plasmaniac
Made completely out of plasma (the state of matter that occurs when you heat a gas so hot, the electrons separate from the atoms), he can shoot plasma from his hands, melt his way through nearly anything just by walking into it, and control plasma remotely. He once was one of Quantis' allies, but when Quantis realized that Plasmaniac was criminally insane, he terminated the alliance, but not before Plasmaniac had acquired several platoons of robots and a flagship. Now he wages war against pretty much everyone, and is significantly more sadistic than Quantis. He got his powers when Telekeniclops decided that such an insane guy should be destroyed, and teleported the soon-to-be villain into the center of a star. Normally a person would just be killed, but the massive nuclear radiation in the center of a star mutated him just as the plasmization refined his superpower. He is thus always both eager and nervous to tangle with Telekeneticlops. His life goal, for some psychopathic reason we're not sure of, is to destroy Oklahoma and push armadillos to extinction.
Alyyra Firni (aka Sting)
Alyyra is a Ventian (descendant of the inhabitants of planet Ventis II) born on Aivaris (one of the major planets in the Warring Clans). She is a fierce warrior, leader, and has a formidable knowledge of chemistry. After a brief alliance with Quantis in hopes of gaining an advantage within the Warring Clans, she discovered the value of fighting for what is right and led a team of Aivarians, now known as the Sentinels, around the galaxy to fight evil, serving no master except their own sense of justice and freedom.
AcidBoy
Youngest brother of Pyros, Electroid, and Magnetogirl. He has the ability to control, create, and turn into any type of acid. This includes shooting acids out of his hands. His powers also extend to bases, but Acid-and-Base-Boy doesn't have the same ring to it. AcidBoy is very useful to have around when trapped in a cage (especially one made out of metal). Since he is rather young and not fully trained, he is mostly given small, local missions with SuperNaturals.
AirBoy
Telekeneticlops' little brother, AirBoy can control air and make wind clones of himself to protect him and enable himself to fly (by manipulating his and the air's density). He can also push people away from him with air currents and create tornadoes. AirBoy got his powers from a falling barrel of intoxic-oxide that T.clops keeps in his closet. AirBoy never backs away from a fight. If he gets hurt or injured, he will only fight harder. He prefers to fight strong, powerful bad guys and likes to get around by flying. His favorite fighting move is to create an invisible bubble around himself of mach 2 winds pushing anything harmful away from him. However, this mode of defense is ineffective against lasers and black holes.
Plazer
Telekeneticlops' pet cat which behaves more like personal bodyguard for him and his brother. After his brother got a new pet black kitten, T.clops implanted a computer chip in its brain so it's smart enough to protect them from bad guys. One time his right eye and tail got burned off by Plasmaniac, so T.clops added cybernetic replacements. Now Plazer has the ability to see in every spectrum, knock through walls with his tail, and shoot lasers. Its only weaknesses are yarn and catnip, but it's not like a bad guy's going to show up with a bunch of that.
PlantBoy
PlantBoy can grow plants anywhere he wants, even without seeds, as long as the plant can survive in the conditions (e.g., plants can't grow on the Sun, and neither in the Antarctic, but for pretty much everywhere else, there's some sort of plant life, like algae, moss, lichens, or daffodils). He can also talk to plants, but only plants that are genetically designed (by him, by Telekineticlops, or from other planets) to respond, because most plants (all plants on Earth, and many on other planets) have no central nervous system, and therefore are not capable of thought, and are of no use as spies, seeing most plants have no eyes (photosynthesis does NOT help a plant spy on enemy plans). But there are thousands of species of plants across the galaxy that are capable of acting as spies, warriors, and such. He can also manipulate the more common brainless plants to destroy enemies (for example, giant vines growing out of nowhere and strangling the bad guy robots).
... and waaaaay more!
